Enjoy Your Stay

The Captain Reed Room is located in the western part of the main Inn on the second floor off the private, rear staircase near the kitchen making it among the first rooms to catch the aroma of fresh baked goods awaiting you at breakfast. The room has five low set windows facing northerly, easterly and southerly directions providing abundant natural light that gleams on the original wide pine floor. The room is painted in a soft cream yellow, decorated with ship prints and dressed with white wood trim.

The Ethan Allen queen four-poster beehive bed is covered in soft white linen. The room is furnished with two stuffed wingback chairs, a highboy dresser and an oak drop leaf writing desk.

The private ensuite bathroom is done with white wainscoting, pedestal sink, tile floor, and a rain head tile shower enclosed with seamless glass door attached to a marble step.

Although very charming, the original back stairs providing access to the Captain Reed Room have high risers and short treads. This room is not recommended for carrying up large suitcases or for people with unsteady legs.
