Captain Perkins Room

The Captain Perkins Room, named after the original sea Captain who built the house in 1850, is the largest room at the Inn. Located in the front of the main Inn on the second floor, guests access the room via a private staircase off the main hallway. This elegant room is painted in a light salmon with white trim and crown molding. The five southerly and easterly facing windows let in abundant natural light that gleams on the wide pine floor dressed with an original hand knotted rug from India. On the easterly end of the room, there is large walk-in closet.

The room is furnished with both a king and a twin four-poster, mahogany bed. The end tables by the bed have Stiffel brass lamps for easy reading, and an antique brass pole lamp by the twin bed. There is a bookcase filled with large volume books for your enjoyment and plenty of sitting room with two stuffed wingback chairs and a writing table with two high back chairs.

The private ensuite bathroom with a westerly facing window is done with white wainscoting, white pedestal sink, and ball and claw tub/shower combined.

The room can also be opened up to form a grand suite with the adjoining Captain Reed Room behind a swinging bookcase and door.
